Mission Hall Quilts Ltd

Mission HallMission Hall Quilts Ltd was opened on 07th July 2006 by Cresco Trust Ltd to meet the demands of a growing market in traditional crafts. It is a retail outlet which supplies quilting fabrics, patterns, notions and much more as well as being a training facility in the craft of quilting.

Established parallel with the Calico project, Mission Hall Quilts is a Social Enterprise, with all profits being retained within the Cresco Trust, this enables mentored employment opportunities, classes and outreach work to continue post funding. It is a peace building training and employment venture, which focuses on the skills used in the creation of patchworking and quilting which was popular before the closure of the traditional shirt making trade which was a large employer in Derry/Londonderry. A spin off of the shirt making industry was access to scrap materials or off-cuts which were used to make utility quilts (patchwork quilts). The project encourages new and existing traditional skills through educational workshops and classes ranging from beginners to master class level and through residential weekends and day outings to

Mission Hall Quilts is situated in 7 Fountain Street, Derry and is open Monday to Saturday.
