ILM - Intermediate Labour Market Project

This was a Pilot Project that was funded through the Local Strategy Partnership.

An ILM is a combination of training and employment, which moves people off income support in employment. It is aimed at people, who have been out of work for the longest period in local areas with the fewest jobs.

The project had been established in partnership with the Garvin O'Doherty Group and Austin's Quality Training and provided opportunities for 11 people within the hospitality industry.

The project took a social enterprise approach where the aim would be to create a sustainable enterprise that would employ those most disadvantaged in the labour market.

The ILM employees worked in a new Retail outlet, a Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop . Ben & Jerry's, under their Partnershop Programme, have donated the scoop shop franchise to Cresco, and will provide ongoing support by subsidising the cost of ice-cream products and provide on-going training and marketing.
